The stuff was great: from the bell boy, to the receptionist and the waiter from the restaurant. Everybody speaks English and tries to help you as much as possible. The room had a beautiful view over the mountain and the fortress (the main attraction of Veliko Turnovo) and it was very clean and wide. The hotel has a panoramic elevator (niiice).
The air from the room was quite stuffy, maybe because they hadn't opened the windows, but we kept the windows opened during all our stay, so eventually it was't a big inconvenience.
Location is great: 5 minutes walk from the old center, 5-10 minutes walk to the castle. Nice view to Tsaravetz site. Rooms were comfortable, big enough and nicely arranged. We had a double room at the 4-Th level, with castle view. There was a train line passing by under the hotel hill but it didn't disturbed us to much. Included breakfast was good, as for regular 4* hotels, and the restaurant had a nice view to the surrounding area, including castle. Even if parking slots in front of the hotel were only few, they has another guarded parking place 300m from the hotel (and the guys from the reception were happy to take your car to and from that parking place). We didn't tried the restaurant or the spa services, since we preferred to go visit the nearby attractions.
The other parking place was a little too far from the hotel - but at least you could leave the car in a guarded place. Nothing bad in general for this hotel.
Great view of castle from our balcony. We watched the light show, while the children slept - fantastic! The restaurant has great food, and great selection.
The location it is great! We had lights show on the castel that was amazing!
Unfortunately the breakfast was very pur!
The hotel is located a stone's throw away from the old town and also within walking distance (10 minutes) of the fortress. We were given three double rooms facing the fortress with a lovely view of the mountains. We were also able to watch the fortress' sound and light show from our rooms in the evening.
The hotel is a bit old and the rooms and corridors have a mouldy smell.
What we liked best were the wonderful position of the Hotel which gave us the best ever views we have ever had from a Hotel. The staff were very pleasant and we could not have stayed in a better Hotel at the price we paid. If we were to come back to Veliko Ternovo this would be our first choice to stay in. We would highly recommend the Yantra Grand Hotel.
Staff is very friendly and ready to solve complaints (we had a room with a bad smell in the bathroom, they change it the next day, although the hotel was very crowded). Also, the restaurant serves very good food (not the breakfast, unfortunatelly)
The breakfast is not great, but you won't starve. Also, if you get a room with street view, it can be really noisy all night long (depending on the night and your luck, I guess)
Friendly staff at the reception desk
Sinking bath - a common problem for most hotels in Bulgaria
Nice and friendly staff, qucik and easy service, excellent location,
Room and restaurant furnitures and the overall style of the hotel is little inconsistent and old-fashion
I found the hotel staff were extremely helpful. The suite we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend the Yantra Hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed staying there.
There was one minor annoyance, we could hear the trains going by in the night but a set of ear plugs cleared that up.
The room was not very clean. The carpet in the room was dirty, the towels were not exactly clean and we also found a big black insect on the bed during one afternoon. The swimming pool was small.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Fantastic views from rooms and restaurant. Pool area nice. Restaurant (also with great scenery) is good.
Very limited parking, but we had a spot right out front!
Wnderful vie. modern. excellent value
Terrace with views to Tsarevets Hill
1) The location, the location and again the location! The hotel is at the best spot in the city, close to the castle, in the heart of the old city, and with an excellent view. 2) The price-quality relation is quite satisfactory. 3) The fact that it offers a fully-equipped spa with reasonable prices.
1) We booked a 4-bed room, but, except for towels, there were things (robes, slippers etc.) only for two persons! When I asked for a robe and slippers, they only brought me slippers! Additionally, the kit with toothpaste, razors etc. was only for one person. You expect a 4-star hotel to be more professional on these issues. 2) The breakfast was poor, at least compared with other 4-star hotels I've stayed. For instance, there was no fresh juice. 3) When you ask for a map of the city, I think you expect a more professional response, and not to send you to the next-door souvenir shop to pay 3 Euros for the cheapest map! I don't have a problem to pay the money, but, when you want to promote your city and your hotel as a tourist destination, you should offer a small map to your guests. At least, this is what I would do. 4) The hotel was quiet, in general, but there was a noisy train passing by from early in the morning to late at night!
